How to Keep the Magic Alive: 5 Ways to Energize Your Marriage

Marriage isn’t a cake that you put in the oven and check on in 15 years. You need to be an active participant in cultivating, nurturing, and energizing your relationship with your partner. This is particularly important given that American Psychological Association has found that 40-50% of first marriages end in divorce and 60-70% of second marriages end in divorce. Having a strong, satisfying marriage over time will have an unparalleled impact on your day-to-day happiness and long-term feelings of well-being.

The Cycle Stops With You: 3 Ways to Stop Feeding Emotional Eating

Emotional eating is a concern of many women across the nation. It is no surprise with food being at the forefront of most gatherings, rewards, and commercials that we have such a fixation on food. For many women, the thought of not turning to food for comfort seems impossible.

Built in 1883, the stately Honor Mansion in Healdsburg, California welcomes guests to Sonoma wine country with the warmth and grace of a bygone era. The magnificent wine country resort offers 13 sumptuous rooms, including seven suites, spread over four acres of beautifully landscaped grounds—which include a quarter acre of Rockpile Zinfandel vines.

Owners Cathi and Steve Fowler purchased Honor Mansion in 1994 and went straight to work restoring the building to its original splendor. The guest rooms are sanctuaries devoted to comfort, featuring pristine, private bathrooms with Egyptian cotton towels; down comforters, and exquisite European linens; winter and summer bathrobes; fresh spring water; evening turndown service; seasonal flowers, and other pampering touches.

Guests are treated to a full gourmet breakfast buffet each morning in the dining room, and wine and appetizers every afternoon. Cookies, fruit, candy, and other refreshments are available in various spots around the grounds, which hold a plethora of ways to relax and enjoy oneself. For those seeking a little activity, there’s a lap pool, a competition croquet lawn, a PGA putting green fashioned after a green at the Mayacama Golf Club in nearby Windsor, a hiking and jogging trail, a tennis court, basketball court, and bocce courts. Those seeking utter relaxation find ways to do that too, with an in-room or poolside massage, a stroll through the vegetable and herb gardens, or a glass of wine on the private back patio, complete with a spa tub.

It comes as no surprise that Honor Mansion, a Wine Country Resort, has maintained AAA Four Diamond Award status for the past 14 consecutive years. The resort inn has also been consistently rated #1 on Trip Advisor. In fact, it received the 2012 Trip Advisor Traveler Choice Award as a top 10 hotel in the United States for service; was awarded a perfect quality inspection two consecutive times by Select Registry Distinguished Inns of North America; and was named by American Historic Inns as a Top 10 Most Romantic Inn. These glowing accolades assure guests that their stay at Honor Mansion will be restful and rejuvenating—the perfect escape.
