6 Reasons We Should All Cry

What the hell is wrong with me? Nothing really.

It seems that I cry more these days as I have gotten older. My stoic husband can get weepy when watching a sappy movie, sometimes (he will deny this). But some people tend to cry more naturally than others and I fit into that category.

So why does it seem people are ashamed to cry? Because it’s been drummed into us (especially men) that crying is a sign of weakness or even seen as unprofessional.

Helping Your Spouse Cope With Loss

My father-in-law passed away suddenly last year and it was shocking news for my husband since he was living far away from us and the cause of death was a flash flood while we were on a camping trip. Though it happened a year ago, I still see my husband crying loud for hours, especially when he listens to his father's recorded voice or goes through his photos. I don't really know what to do and I cannot just sit here and watch him cry and do nothing because I love him more than anything in the world. Any help would be appreciated.

Why Crying is a Turnoff to Your Husband

Many women cry to release stress and sadness. Having a good cry—hence the term—actually serves the same purpose as its counterpart, laughter. Even though women around the globe have been suppressed and silenced (many still are) and are still finding their individual voices, there are a few points women need to know about crying:

* How tears are perceived at the workplace
* What tears do to men

A new study from the Weitzmann Institute of Science in Israel asserts that emotional tears in women emit a chemical, which reduces sexual arousal while lowering testosterone levels in men.

Adventures of a Newlywed: The First Quarter

Ahhhhh… the absolute bliss of being a newlywed! Every day is sheer perfection. Life couldn’t be rosier!

I know that the honeymoon will never be over in my marriage! I’m laughing out loud, because—as most newlyweds like myself will attest—the early days of marriage are not always smooth.

As you read, maybe you’ll find yourself commiserating with me, and maybe you’ll just shake your head and laugh. In sharing my laughable journey with you, I hope to help other couples feel not so alone—or at least not altogether "abnormal." In fact, there’s a comforting, humbling humanness in sharing my personal experiences from the inside out.
