Coping with Male Sexual Failure

With all the hype surrounding sex and sexual relationships, there can be a tremendous feeling of pressure, especially for men. Men, in fact, appear to experience sexual performance-anxiety in far greater proportions than women. In spite of society's seeming openness to sexuality and women's sexual freedom, there is still a very traditional perspective that it's a man's duty and responsibility to always rock the sexual boat. In other words, men must have the equipment, skills and stamina to throw it down in the bedroom and when they don't, they are viewed as sexual and relationship failures.

Overcoming Sexual Anxiety

If we are honest, most of us want to be assured that our spouse is sexually happy with us. We sense instinctively that this is necessary for the survival of the union. Of course there are a few who claim not to care or who can’t be bothered. For the rest of us, however, there is that innate desire to keep the sexual fires hot and blazing, if only we could overcome our sexual silence.

I recently read an article that touted seven sure ways for a woman to know how good she was in bed. Amazingly, not one of those involved her spouse telling her how she was doing or how he felt about their sex life.

Chronic Gum Disease Tied to Risk of Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is more common in men with gum disease, according to a new review of existing studies.

Chronic bacterial infection of the gums, or periodontitis, is common and a major cause of tooth loss for adults, the authors write. The condition has been tied to a higher risk of cardiovascular disease and general inflammation, which in turn have been tied to stroke and hardening of the arteries.

Stroke and hardening of the arteries are also associated with erectile dysfunction (ED).
