As we settle into the fall season and say goodbye to our summer vacations and the romance of summer date nights on a terrace, it becomes a little bit harder to think of ways to keep the romance going. As the temperatures drop, we are less inspired to go out; school starts and we get involved into our children’s school lives and there just seems to be no time left for you and your loved one.

February 14th is the day couples show their love for one another, and it usually comes in the form of flowers, candy or a romantic dinner for just the two of you.  While that’s all-important and shouldn’t be overlooked, if you really want to connect on a higher level, there is nothing sexier than a person who projects intelligence and confidence.  I prefer to call it "intellectual foreplay," and it means making the connection on an emotional level through better conversation, intellect and body language.

You stand, hands on hips, elbows out, staring at the floor.

"What’s wrong?" your spouse asks, "What did I do now?"

Surprised, you look up. "Nothing, why?"

"I dunno," he says. "Standing there like that, I figured you were about to yell at me."

You’re confused. What made him think that? Later, you’re trying to talk with your husband about the bills, and he’s staring off somewhere in space.
