A Cellar Rat Reinvents Renwood Winery

Surrounded by rolling hills in the heart of Amador County, Renwood Winery in Plymouth, California, has long enjoyed an enviable reputation for crafting excellent wines. The winery's 20th anniversary was celebrated in 2013, as well as an exciting new chapter when it invited Joe Shebl to be its new director of winemaking and general manager.

Well, Joe isn't entirely new. Renwood gave him his very first winery job: a cellar rat for the 1999 harvest. He instantly fell in love with the business and has since pursued a career in winemaking, which included a seven-year stint as Renwood's winemaker.

Renwood Winery: A Global Reboot on Winemaking

Surrounded by rolling hills and streams in the heart of Amador County’s picturesque Shenandoah Valley, Renwood Winery is experiencing an exciting resurgence. The winery, which was founded in 1993, has always been lauded for its excellent wines. "I have been making wine for 30 years this harvest and have never felt as optimistic and enthusiastic as I do today," Dave says.
