Satisfaction in the workplace is on a decline according to surveys and backyard conversations. Dissatisfied employees are opening up about feeling stressed and having difficulty with the underlying anxiety and mood swings that often accompany such responses.

Passive aggressive responses are not unusual when employees become resentful. There seems to be an increase in workplace gossip whether presented openly in the lounge or break room or heard more subtly through whispering gossip. A domino effect amongst other employees can readily ensue.

While the workplace can be a seething cauldron of stress for both genders, women tend to experience the following work-related stress symptoms like, short-term memory loss, lack of clarity, suppressed anger, fatigue and weight gain. A Wall Street Journal article, "Office Stress: His Versus Hers" by Lauren Weber and Sue Shellenbarger asserts that women suffer more stress than their male counterparts at work. Keep in mind that women don’t compartmentalize the way men do. They bring their stress home with them and this stress inevitably seeps into their marriage.

New Year's resolutions seldom change. Lose weight, save money, exercise regularly and spend more time with the family are all great starts to our yearly goals. With the economy experiencing ebb and flow, it may be a good time to include some office resolutions as well. Here are a few suggestions for those that already have a job and other's who may be looking for a one:
