Not much has changed since our grandmothers told our mothers on their wedding night to, "Stare at the ceiling and think of England dear. It will be over soon enough."

Today’s woman can’t admit that the intercourse part of the sexual experience probably isn’t doing it for her. She’s supposed to be sexually emancipated, free to express her needs, wants and desires. And yet for a lot of married women, intercourse is known as the "waiting it out and hoping it’s over soon" portion of love making.

Positive sexual anticipation is one of the most powerful aphrodisiacs you will ever come across. Negative sexual anticipation is also as powerful and will zap any sexual spark in a nanosecond.

So it goes without saying that this seemingly insignificant thing called sexual desire can make or break good sex. In fact, the number one reason long-term couples in North America stop having sex is a lack of sexual desire.

Many parents have confessed, "I watch my young daughter dressed in little wisps of clothing, gyrating in front of the TV while singing along with Britney Spears. I don’t want to be a prude, but it’s really unnerving to see her be so sexual."

I sincerely appreciate how difficult it is to watch your child try-on their sexuality—especially when it’s so in your face. Yet, it’s probably the same way your parents fretted when you listened to Madonna, Led Zepplin, Elvis or whatever music, movie or fashion you were into at the time.

Kids figuring out their sexuality is an age-old parent/ teenager dilemma.

What if women had their own magic sex pill? Perhaps the world would become a sing-song happy place like Viagra commercials promise.

Imagine if women could arrive home from a bone-weary day, drive the kids to practice, make supper, do a little housework and then—even after a slight pithy exchange with her spouse over who’s driving the kids tomorrow—take a pill and "shazam!" feel instantly sexual, hot and bothered, ready and waiting for sex.

There are two camps when it comes to sex addiction: those who believe it’s a real affliction and those who don’t.

I’m in the "don’t" camp. Sexual addiction is, in my opinion, an easy and convenient label for a very complicated problem. As it stands, there is a lack of empirical evidence and scientific agreement on whether such a condition exists.

The trick to what makes up a sex addiction is defining what are "normal" sexual pursuits. An exercise in subjectivity, as every person has their own comfort level and preference:

Research shows that you girls don’t dig your "precious" as much as we men love our "tools." Twenty-two percent of you don’t like the smell of your privates, while only 3 percent of guys think their wiener smells like "mouldy cheese." And, plenty of you buy into the douching routine. In fact, a study sponsored by Summer’s Eve (perhaps a little biased) found that women have better genital image if they had control over their body’s freshness.

How do you men put up with this? Brian, what can I say to women about their body image that hasn’t been said a thousand times before? Women have been there, done that, worn the t-shirt.

Women resonate when Joy Davidson, author of Fearless Sex writes, "Eighty percent of women are dissatisfied with their bodies. Five to ten million adolescent girls and adult women struggle with eating disorders in the United States alone. Almost half of all American women are on a diet any day of the week."
